G.o.C describe there music as twisted, deranged pop songs, though at first listen you can be easily distracted by the raw, hyperactive sound of screeching and shimmering guitar’s and a rhythm section so precise you would think they were half machine, but underneath at the core of the songs lies sharp melodies and undeniable talent for a hook that draws you deeper into the music.
Fused with front man Jed’s intense yet distinctive vocal delivery and his ability to adapt to represent the light and dark sides of this band, intelligent song structures, jaw dropping explosive live shows and a sound so unrestricted and unfazed by today’s ever growing predictable music scene, Governors of California are a truly original force that is hard to compare and yet be matched.
Governors of California were formed in 2005, based on the idea of writing intelligent and unpredictable pop music. Before long, one of there songs caught the attention of producer Gavin Monaghan (Editors, Killswitch engage, Bloc Party)who invited them to record there debut E.P ‘I.C’ at his Magic Garden studios. Recorded and mixed in one day, The E.P eventually ended up at the door of lockjaw records. Numerous conversations later, G.o.C were invited to join the roster and offered an album deal which has now been finalised.
With the debut mini-album ‘Pressure Points’ finished and penned for release in late Spring, New member Taz,bought in for guitar duties and gigs being lined up all around the U.K, catch them while you can. In the bands own words “Were you’re new favourite band, you just don’t know it yet”.
