thisfamiliarsmile – are a four-piece rock band from Glasgow playing rock music full of irregular timings, complex structures and yet manage to keep their music cohesive and melodic. With influences stemming from The Cure right through to At The Drive-In, thisfamiliarsmile have a healthy mix of influences that are evident from the moment the sound first hits your ears. The band’s first release was through Fierce Panda Records who have released tracks from Coldplay, Death Cab For Cutie, Keane and Seafood to name but a few, and this gave the band the chance to broaden their horizons ultimately leading to an appearance at T in The Park in Glasgow in front of thousands of unsuspecting music fans.
2006 saw the guys working on their self –released EP "Days We Turn On Ourselves" that sold over 600 copies at the bands shows and 2007 sees their first release on Lockjaw Records. "What Kind Of Monster Am I" is a great record that shows the full extent of their talent and will lead to the bands full length album later this year.
