Backwash - What A Difference Two Years Makes

From ska to pop punk to metal – these are the early influences that have blended BACKWASH into a formidable punk-rock force.

BACKWASH formed a few years back at school, as 5 friends just making a noise, and were fuelled by their unrelenting passion for everything Punk Rock. Still mixing up styles of hardcore, punk, ska, and everything else in between, the lads from Worcester have gone from strength to strength delivering some of the most energetic live and recorded performances seen in a long time. Not only have they built an enormous following in their own locale, but have now made fans and friends from North to South, East to West.

After touring the length and breadth of the Country supporting bands with legendary names such as ‘The Dammed’ and ‘Stiff Little Fingers’ Backwash decided that it was time to commit themselves to CD. With a helping hand from Jim Turner, producer of early THISGIRL and MIDASUNO releases, and the new TTN and Second Monday albums, the band spent a wild few days in the heart of the Cotswolds at ‘The Waiting Room Studios’ where they honed this exciting slab of raw energy onto record as their outstanding 7 track debut.

BACKWASH haven’t copied our American cousins. Far from it, they have taken back what was rightfully the UK’s…. genuine, heartfelt, PUNK ROCK!!!
