Maeven have already played shows at premier venues in the UK, toured the States, and played at a pre-tour party for Guns N’ Roses. Not bad for an all-girl teen band from South Yorkshire. After completing a tour of some legendary venues in New York, LA, and Las Vegas (The Whiskey A-Go-Go, The Roxy, The Cat Club, and Club Sputnik), they have returned to the UK to promote their new self-titled album with a full UK tour starting on 13th January 2009 at The Purple Turtle, Camden. The Maeven album was recorded, mixed and produced by Matt Elliss who produced G.U. Medicine’s second album. The girls feel it reflects their own life experiences especially those from their time in the States, which has had a major influence on how they view the world and write their songs. With influences from The Ramones to Backyard Babies, Maeven have high aspirations and driving ambition and now people are starting to take notice of the quirky, punk-rock girls from Sheffield.
