I love bands that don’t sound like anyone else and Everything On Red are one such band. The three piece; consisting of guitarist, drummer and synthesiser, pump out a brand of music all their own and on top of it – all share vocal and writing duties. The vocals are definitely unapologetic in both tone and delivery but it might be the synth that gives EOR their edge; it’s all over the place, and lends a sort of 8-bit video game tone to proceedings that will have you dancing and head banging whether you like it or not – it’s just a straight up fact. That all members share the writing duties reflects massively in the songs themselves, although only an EP, the variety on display is stunning. Not only between songs but within songs themselves: tempo changes, both synth and guitar riffs, backing vocals – all are utilised to such an extent that each song becomes a mini journey for your lucky little ears so without further ado, I suggest you do yourself a massive favour and track them down.
