Hailing from Guildford, Surrey, Wild Tales are a dynamic four-piece blending math rock intricacy with indie rock immediacy and pop-driven hooks. Their sound walks the line between technical flair and anthemic accessibility, pairing wild musicality with big choruses and sharp songwriting instinct.
After emerging with a string of singles recorded and mixed by Chris Coulter at Decimal Studios, the band quickly established themselves as a colourful and ambitious presence within the Lockjaw Records family. Tracks like Summer, Electric Smiles and Out of My Mind showcased their range, from nostalgic punk energy to socially observant lyricism and cleverly disguised pop anti-ballads.
Their delayed single Waiting To Die marked a defining step forward. Despite its bleak sounding title, the track delivers upbeat, riff driven urgency with a soaring chorus and a nod to early Foo Fighters. Born from frustration but framed as motivation, the song captures the band’s ability to turn self awareness into something energising and forward-looking.
In 2023, Wild Tales released their album I II III, their most cohesive and confident body of work to date. Expanding on their earlier singles, the record cements their identity: intricate guitars, punchy rhythm work, emotionally honest lyrics and choruses built to stick. It’s a statement of intent from a band who balance technical skill with genuine heart.
Energetic live shows and playful creativity underpin everything they do, making Wild Tales a band as engaging off stage as they are on it.
