DRONES β 2010 β 2022 π€
It is with a heavy heart that after over a decade of making music and performing live together, 2022 will mark the final year of Drones. This was an amicable decision and everyone still has nothing but love and respect for each other. With certain members looking to explore other avenues in life, we came to the conclusion it was better to preserve the legacy of what weβve achieved rather than looking into replacements.
This band has achieved more than we ever dreamt it would. From when we began as a three piece with Daly, Kerr and Mitchell playing pubs around the UK β to the addition of Rob, performing a live session at Maida Vale for @bbcradio1, playing sets at major festivals such as @downloadfest and touring all around Europe β then with the addition of Lois and Tim, bringing us to new heights with a different musical direction resulting in us racking up millions of stream online and being played on mainstream radio the other side of the world β and finally, with the addition of Tom, who brought a new lease of life to the Our Hell Is Right Here campaign. Weβre so fucking proud of what weβve achieved β considering it all started with rehearsals of three-chord songs in a living room in Camberley.
We will be honouring our Manchester Punk Festival set in April for all our Northern friends out there; beyond that, our final show will take place on May 7th at @thelexingtonlondon with support from @theburnttapesmusic and @cultrevivaluk. We will performing tracks from every release weβve put out over the last 12 years. Join all seven of us for one last final (documented!) hurrah. Tickets are on sale now HERE
The last of the vinyl and CD stock is still available and these will NOT be repressed, so be quick and grab yourself a copy if you donβt have one already.
