Ignite
Melodic Hardcore, Skate Punk, Hardcore · Orange County, California · Est. 1993
Ignite are firing on all cylinders with Still Wide Awake, their highly anticipated new full-length. The album arrives in 2027, with a string of singles lighting the fuse throughout late 2026. This upcoming release also marks a major milestone for the band with the launch of their very own record label, 93RPM Records. Taking control of the release from top to bottom, Ignite are choosing their global partners carefully, working only with people who share their passion for the band and the music.
Operating once again as a focused four-piece, Ignite return to the streamlined roots of their 90s formation with vocalist Eli Santana, bassist Brett Rasmussen, guitarist Nik Hill, and drummer Craig Anderson. The result is a collection of some of the fastest, angriest songs of their career, proving that looking backwards is sometimes the best way to move forward musically.
Rooted firmly in their hardcore and punk DNA, Still Wide Awake weaves in a deliberate fusion of their metal and dark goth influences, driven by internal inspiration rather than outside trends. As bassist Brett Rasmussen stated, “We have to be moved by our own music and lyrics for something to make the record. If the song doesn’t hit us emotionally, then it’s not worth recording.” That uncompromising conviction translates into fearless lyricism that tackles urgent political and personal issues. Tracks like "Worst is Yet to Come" confront American immigration enforcement and the erosion of basic human rights, while “Cold Comfort” confronts the political fight over who should have the authority to make deeply personal decisions regarding reproductive rights. Elsewhere, the record turns inward, with “Dissonate” examining mental health and the societal pressures that discourage men from acknowledging and confronting their struggles. The opening title track, “Still Wide Awake,” is a melodic hardcore barnburner that calls on us to take responsibility for ourselves and each other rather than sleepwalking through life.
To understand where Ignite are going, it helps to look at where they started. Bursting out of Orange County’s punk and hardcore scene in 1993, Ignite quickly established a sound built on raw intensity, soaring melody, and lyrics that carried real weight. Their debut EP Where They Talk in 1994 set the tone, and by the time Our Darkest Days arrived in 2006, Ignite had built a worldwide following, packing clubs and tearing up festival stages across the globe. In 2022, they opened a powerful new chapter with their self-titled album, introducing Eli Santana and proving that their passion burns just as strong as ever.
Over the years, Ignite have shared stages with Bad Religion, Suicidal Tendencies, Avenged Sevenfold, Rise Against, Madball, and Comeback Kid, among countless others. Their decades of touring have also taken them to some of the biggest festivals in the world. With an aggressive touring schedule taking shape to support Still Wide Awake and spread the new material across the globe, Ignite are showing no signs of slowing down. The core goal has never changed: to play aggressive, melodic music, and inspire people to live better lives, make changes, and help others. After more than three decades, Ignite continue to pour everything into every new song and every show, carrying that message forward and proving that punk and hardcore are still very much alive.
